Character Name: Nana Yamada.
Character Journal: nanaanan
Age/Birthdate: 16/May 21st 2006.
House/Year: Hufflepuff/6th.
Wand: 11.5 inches, Oak, Phoenix feather.
Bloodline: Muggle Born.
Why were they sorted into this House? Nana never really was the brightest, nor the most coordinated girl, therefore when the Sorting Hat was placed upon her head it didn't take long to decide that she belonged in HUFFLEPUFF. She's pretty clumsy, and a bit air-headed so from what she was told about her House by other students; she agreed with the old Hat and thinks that Hufflepuff suits her quite well. (Not that the things other people said to her about the house is completely true anyway.)

Physical Description. Nana is very short, and I mean.. very; standing at only 5'2. She likes to hide the fact that she's a shrimp by wearing heels anytime it is possible for her to. She's very self-conscious when it comes to her height and gets offended easily when someone points it out to her. Though what she lacks in the height department she makes up for in her other physical traits. Her hair is quite long at present, cascading down to her bum (for lack of better wording) and is usually dyed in all sorts of shades ranging from browns, blonds, and even sometimes off the wall colors like; white, purple, green, and pink (of course). Nana often plays around with her hair styles and thanks Merlin that she's good at beauty charms otherwise she'd look a little funky if something turned out wrong.

Her eyes are a little on the small side, seeing as how she is Japanese; and keeps to her Muggle ways by wearing something called "circle lens" which give off the appearance of bigger eyes. They are like contacts, only they don't help her see and they have a dark circle around the edges which help give off the illusion of bigger and brighter eyes. Her wizarding world friends often ask about the circle lens because Nana wears them all the time and sometimes they look quite odd depending on the color and style of them. Nana is quite partial to the gray colored ones, with little stars in them. Nana is absolutely in love with her nose, and thanks her mother for that (it's the only physical trait of hers that she doesn't have a problem with). It's perfectly centered, and not too big or small. Her lips are a bit juicy, and extremely soft due to her fear of dry lips so she is constantly rubbing on some lip balm to make sure that never happens, and with a simple glossing charm they stay shining and kissable. Her teeth, she'd always been teased growing up because they weren't the straightest teeth ever seen. In fact, they were really crooked and made her not want to smile ever... until her parents put her into braces anyway. She wore those awful metal contraptions for three years and when they finally were taken off; Nana's teeth were beautiful and straighter than all the other kids' at school.

After hitting puberty, Nana became well aware that she was a pretty girl. Boys and girls alike started to flirt with her and ask her on dates. That's when she decided to use her looks to get ahead (seeing as how she was crap at most wizarding subjects). She never really was a shabby dresser, her mother was a top model in Ireland and passed on great style tips to her only daughter. So Nana grew up with high fashion, and continues to follow the Muggle Fashions as well as the Wizarding ones; wearing only the most expensive and fashionable clothing out there. She's very girly as well, and loves to dress up. Her wardrobe consists of bright and bold colors so that she can stand out, and she HATES HATES HATES to wear the Hogwarts Uniform because she says she looks rather plain in black. Therefore she always finds some way to spruce up the uniform (although she gets caught all the time and has to fix it).

Personality: Nana is very loud, and likes to state her opinion even when it's not needed (usually she butts into other people's business) and is often in trouble for it. She's very self-conscious about her height and will cry easily if made fun of about it. Aside from the fact that she's short she knows she is a pretty girl and uses that to her advantage. She's not necessarily a tramp or anything, (she does have morals believe it or not) but she's not afraid to show some skin when the time calls for it. Most people have her misunderstood and think that she's something she's not (ie: a tramp) but for those few that she has slept with or are close to her know better. Despite the reputation that she has, Nana is a very happy and bubbly girl who loves to dress up and dress her friends up. She's the epitome of the term "girly-girl" and isn't ashamed to admit that dirt freaks her out.

Speaking of dirt, Nana is very very much the neat freak. Everything has to be in order and she has even gone as far as to label everything she owns to make sure that she keeps track of it all. If one thing is dirty or out of place, Nana freaks out and has to re-clean or re-organize everything. Yes, she's very OCD. She's even been known to clean up her roommate's things as well and yells at them constantly if the room is dirty, or if they don't pick up after themselves. Her friends refer to her as the "Nit-picking Nagging Queen of Clean", a name that Nana hates but agrees with them that she is what they say. As well as being an OCD neat freak, Nana is also grossed out by bugs. Yes, bugs.. especially the slimy, slithering 8347385 legged, hairy things. Did I mention that she was the epitome of girly-girl? When she sees bugs she doesn't even think twice, she steps on them or swats them with rolled up parchment; anything she can do to get rid of the nastiness of creepy crawlers. Another reason why she keeps herself busy with cleaning up the 6th year Hufflepuff girls' room; SPIDERS. She does not want to see any of those eight legged, hairy things ever... but she sees them anyway seeing as how this is an old castle, and spiders as well as other bugs are inevitably going to be somewhere around her.

Going back to friends; Nana is very good to them (especially her closest of close ones) and would do anything, or give anything to make sure that they are cared for and happy. She's an only child so she treats her friends as if they are her siblings, and is glad that they have her back and vice versa. She's an honest person as well, and has never told a single lie in all her sixteen years of life. I know that it's hard to believe that she's never told ONE lie but it's true. At a very young age, her parents constantly beat into their daughter's head that lying was a huge sin and that she'd definitely go to Hell if she told even one. They told her these elaborate tales about what Hell would be like, and frankly is scared the living shite out of her to the point of having nightmares. So, yes, Nana has never told a single lie in her life in fear of going to Hell after she dies.

"You break it, you bought it" - Something Nana is not a stranger to. Growing up, she's always been rather clumsy and awkward when it comes to carrying things. She concentrates so hard on the thing she is carrying, and often doesn't watch where she is going.. and then BAM! something is broken. For someone who trips about five times a day, it's anyone's guess as to why she demands to wear heels wherever she goes. Nana doesn't fall down the stairs, she falls up them instead, and she's also walking into walls constantly. Nana has probably been in the Hospital Wing for broken bones in one year, more so than the average Hogwarts student would have been in the entire 7 years they are at the school! But she has a good sense of humor about it at least, and can laugh at herself for being such a darned klutz.

Family: Kentaro Yamada; 45 - Nana's loving father. He moved to Ireland at the age of 12 with his family from Okinawa, Japan. Kentaro works as a University Professor who teaches Biology. When the Hogwarts letter came for his only child, his reaction was not too surprising. He'd known that Nana wasn't "normal" like the other children because she'd make weird and unexplained things happen when she was upset, happy, or angry. So finding out that she was indeed a witch didn't surprise the man at all. He is very proud of his daughter, and loves her the same as he did before he even knew that she was "special" in that way. Nana and Kentaro's relationship is a very close one; he's the one person she can go to and tell her thoughts to even when things aren't so good on her end. He isn't judging of his daughter, and gives her the best advice he knows how. Nana really appreciates her father, and does everything she can to please him.

Michiko Yamada; 40 - Nana's perfect mother. Her parents had moved to Ireland before she was even born from Kyoto, Japan. At an early age, she became a model for one of the most elite modeling agencies in all the United Kingdom and modeled with the agency until she was 32 years old. She continues to work with the agency to this day as a talent scout, recruiting other young girls for their beauty and poise. Michiko brought her daughter up to believe that the most important thing is beauty and that everything else comes second. She showed her daughter the art of modeling and pushed it onto her daughter. It would never work for Nana to model though, at least not runway like Michiko had hoped. Why? Well first off she was way too short to do runway since she only grew to be 5'2. Secondly, Nana is clumsy and always tripped over her own feet. This was a big disappointment to Michiko who had been a runway model in her day, standing at 5'10. Nana and her mother's relationship isn't as good as the one she has with her father. Michiko is always calling her "shrimp" or "dwarf" and often makes fun of Nana's short legs (unknowing that it hurts her daughter's feelings). Her mother's teasing is why Nana is so self-conscious about her height, and so sensitive about it.

Personal History: Nana Yamada came into the world on a very wet and gloomy May morning at around 8am in the South of Ireland. It had been a normal, uncomplicated birth for the very beautiful Michiko Yamada. The model was extremely thrilled to have given birth to a baby girl and was looking forward to the joys of motherhood. Kentaro Yamada, Michiko's husband, was also thrilled with the birth of his daughter. Like most Asian families, Kentaro had longed for a son to carry on the family name but as soon as little Nana popped out; he forgot about having a son and was ready to be a father to a healthy little girl. He hoped that his daughter would grow into a nice young woman, and take over his wife's physical appearance rather than his. He was a little bit shorter than his model wife, standing at 5'8 a total of two inches shorter than his better half. Michiko's height was what initially attracted Kentaro to her in the first place.

Growing up with two Muggle parents was very normal and not out of the ordinary for little Nana Yamada. She didn't even know that witches and wizards were real; she believed them only to be in stories. Shortly after Nana's sixth birthday strange things began to happen that no one could explain the cause of. These strange "things" that happened only seemed to occur whenever Nana was incredibly happy, upset, angry, or scared. First it was just little things, glasses exploding, and the cat's fur changing colors; but as time marched on and Nana got older... it was a different story. There had been a harsh storm one night when Nana was ten years old when the strangest of these "things" happened. The power had gone out, and Nana was going to go downstairs to get a couple candles to light for the upper half of the house when she tripped. She had closed her eyes tightly, preparing to hit every step as she fell; but instead she just floated to the landing. She opened her eyes and looked back up the stairs and screamed for her parents. They rushed into the room, and asked what was wrong. After Nana recounted the event that had just taken place, it cemented the idea that Nana was no ordinary girl. She had some sort of magical powers.

So when the Hogwarts letter arrived for Nana Yamada after her eleventh birthday, it wasn't a huge shock to her father, Kentaro. All throughout growing up he believed that there were such things as witches and wizards, and he even swore to this day that on more than one occasion he thought he was witness to it. Michiko on the other hand was not as pleased with Nana's "abnormality." She had wanted for her daughter to follow in her footsteps and become a runway model like herself, not this whole.. "whitchy" business. So it was with mixed feelings that her parents sent her off to Hogwarts from Platform Nine and Three Quarters on the Hogwarts Express that first year. Nana had been terrified of going to this place she'd never heard of before she got her letter, but the feeling was mixed with excitement and wonder. After arriving at Hogwarts she was standing alongside the other first years in a vast hall appropriately named "The Great Hall" and sat upon the stool where she was to be sorted. Barely a second after the Sorting Hat sat upon her head, it screamed out the name; "HUFFLEPUFF".. the weirdest name she'd ever heard. The Hufflepuff table cheered loudly for Nana and in her excitement to join her house, she tripped and fell on her face. The entire Hall rang with laughter when the cute little first year fell. Yes it was extremely embarrassing but Nana got to her feet and laughed with the rest of the hall as she sat down with her housemates.

After the fiasco of falling smack onto her face in her first year, Nana has had her fair share of even more embarrassing moments at school. Tripping, falling up the stairs, breaking bones, ect; in total she has been in the Hospital Wing more than 500 times and she has yet to finish her sixth and seventh years at Hogwarts. Her friends joke around with her and call her "cursed" to be a klutz but Nana knows that it's just because she's very awkward when it comes to things like walking, running, skipping, and carrying breakable things. She is accident prone. On more than one occasion Nana has wished that she had a helmet to carry around with her; she figures that if she had one on her at all times it would save her a few trips to the Hospital Wing.

Now that Nana is in her sixth year of school, she's more comfortable in her own skin (minus the height issue) and uses her good looks to her advantage. Yes, over the years she has gotten her fair share of name calling (ie: tramp, slut, whore), but she isn't about to let it get to her. So what if people thought that way about her? Nana certainly doesn't give a rat's ass what people say about her behind her back, or whisper in the corridors. Nana only cares what her friends think, and what she thinks.. no one else matters. Being that it's so close to graduation from Hogwarts with just close to two years left at school, Nana is in the process of deciding what she wants to do with her life once she leaves. She's always been good with Charms, and Herbology.. and has even made some of her own makeup from some of the magical plants down in the greenhouses. So she figures that she wants to do something in the line of fashion. Maybe become a fashion designer? Continue to make her own makeup and start her own product company? Or maybe she'd do it all? Now that's what she's trying to figure out and her friends happen to be her test subjects.

Classes: Charms; Her definite best class. She's also pretty good in Herbology as well, but as for everything else? She's not so good at them. She's not the brightest crayon in the box (if you know what I mean).
Plans for character: Right now I don't really have anything set in stone for her. I just kinda want to throw her out there and see what happens. Maybe get her into a little trouble relationship wise? That'd be interesting and full of drama. Ha.

Sample RP: A) Your character's best friend/lover/sibling/someone close just dyed their hair an amazing electric blue colour and have cut their hair into a mohawk.

Nana took a step back from her latest victim, and tapped her wand to her pouty lips. She tilted her head to the side slightly and then shook her head, "no this certainly wont do." And with those words being said, she took up her wand once more and began to swish it around uttering charms under her breath with each wrist flick. The boy sitting in the chair had a look of utter terror upon his face. Nana had purposely turned him away from the mirror in the boys' bathroom so that he couldn't look at himself until she was completely finished with his transformation. It was easier to charm the boys into her projects like this one, all she had to do was touch her body in a certain way and they went "gaga" and agreed to anything.

Nana had just learned a new hair color charm; electric blue, and had been itching to get her hands on someone's head to try it out. That's when Nathaniel Harris had caught her eye and off she went to get him to agree to a new look. Of course at first he wasn't interested but after a little flirting and batting of the eyelashes, Nathaniel was in her grasp. So there he sat, his hair a brilliant electric blue (though he didn't know it yet), and a new hair cut. A mohawk. Nana always loved mohawks on the Muggle boys she hung around with, or saw at shopping malls and thought that it was just what Nathaniel needed.

"Okay Nathaniel dear, I am all finished," she said with a bright smile as she pocketed her wand. "You look brilliant, and dare I say, more handsome than before?" Nathaniel blushed and smiled, he then reached up to feel his new hair when his face fell. He didn't feel any hair.. until he moved his hand to the middle of his head.

"Wha-what have you done to my hair?" he cried, jumping from the seat and spinning to look at himself in the mirror. His eyes about popped from their sockets, his jaw hit the stone floor. "Oh. My. </b>GOD</b>! I.. I have a freaking.. a freaking..." he turned to look back at Nana, who was still smiling brightly even though her victim was freaking out. " A BLOODY MOHAWK!"

Nana nodded, "mmhm, and haven't you noticed the color? It's brilliant!" She stared affectionately at her work and clapped. "Probably my best work yet, I must say." Just then, Nathaniel burst into tears, and was howling quite loudly. Nana's smile faded as she rushed over to him, she wrapped an arm around his shoulders and leaned her head against him. "Don't cry darling, it's just hair. It can be grown back, and the color can be changed. It's not like it's permanent and besides," she reached up to play with the mohawk, "it doesn't look bad at all. Just give it a few days, yeah? And if you don't like it still.. I will change it back."

Sample Journal Entry:
So today was rather eventful I must say. After I got the new hair coloring charm down, I decided that the best candidate to try it out on was Nathaniel Harris, and I must say I did a brilliant job! I am quite proud of my latest work, and I am sure that some of you by now have noticed it. Girls, doesn't he look absolutely gorgeous in that shade of blue? It totally brings out the color of his eyes, and that mohawk looks amazing. He looks like one of those punk rocker guys from music groups that you see on the tele.. or well, all you halfies and muggleborns would know what I am talking about. Anyway, so if you haven't seen him; when you do.. please comment on how awesome he looks! (He's feeling a bit down about the whole thing, you know.) Brighten up his day, yeah!?

In other news, mum sent me an owl this morning telling me all about this new girl she's got signed to the agency. I mean, it's not like I care to know. She just wants to continue rubbing it in about how I am a disappointment and all that jazz for not being able to model. I mean, I could model if I wanted to you know? Just not.. runway. Gosh, and even if I was tall enough to do that, do any of you think I have the coordination to walk down a skinny little walkway? I don't think so. Those of you who know me all too well know for damned sure that I wouldn't even get halfway down it without falling on my bloody arse. Mum's just annoying me now.. I wish she'd just lay the bloody hell off me and modeling for once in my life!
